It's Monday!! Even though, for some reason I thought it was Tuesday...yikes.  So , today I was kind of excited.  My dress made it to the paper! I've never had that happen before! It's hard to believe the shows are all over...I was busy sewing for so long.  Also, today, I subscribe to the "Look of the Day" by In Style and Elizabeth Banks is wearing a dress that looks very similar to my Red Dress! She's even wearing statement earrings and a cuff...just like my model did!  It was kinda neat.  Just thought I would share that! Hope you all had a good start to your week, I sure did!

    Hey all! Hope you all had a good weekend.  I had a great weekend! The Heart Truth Fashion Show was wonderful.  My model was fantastic and fabulous.  There were so many lovely dresses made by such great talent , all alumni of NBCCD.  My inspiration was Marilyn Monroe meets Audrey Hepburn with a modern twist.  I actually designed this dress last September...before this whole peplum  craze.  So, I guess I was right on the money!  I've been sew busy the past few months with my designs, I'm not sure what to do now.  I will definitely find something to do...maybe start  on my designs for next year:)

Happy hump day! Today I worked my butt off (or should I say hands) sewing my Red Dress for this weekend.  I started at 9 am and "finished" at 4:30...which was only because I had to pick up the hubby.  But I gotta say...I absolutely loved it!!! I must have...I was so busy that I didn't even stop to eat...so I had a huge supper to make up for it lol.  Anyways, I realized that I can't remember the last time I worked as hard as I did today on something....and I loved it.  I also got some great pics from the NBCCD Fashion show this past weekend from photographer Jeff Crawford (   http://www.jcrawford.ca/Home.html).  They are definitely much much better then the ones I took...lol.  Hopefully  this weekend, if I do take some, they will turn out much better!

Soooo it's Monday! Hope that everyone had a great weekend.  I had, as you know, the NBCCD Fashion Show.  I was featured in the Alumni section.  It was awesome!! I was so surprised and overwhelmed with the positive feedback.  I really need some business cards now because people were asking for them! I was so flattered. It definitely gave my confidence a boost.  However, all my designs wouldn't have looked as great as they did without my fabulous models who strutted their stuff down the runway.  So, thankyou thankyou!  Needless to say, I am pretty happy with everything....more then I ever expected!  Now on to my Red Dress for this weekend.  I'm so excited!   (I'll post more pics once I get more)

 Happy Weekend! I haven't forgotten about you, just been busy!! But guess what, the show is today! I'm so nervous and excited and scared...all at the same time.  Luckily, I have these fabulous models to help bring all my designs to life.  It's so scary putting yourself on display through your art but having these lovely women (two of which are my awesome sisters) who are excited to help, definitely makes it a bit easier.

So, this morning, I thought I'd talk about my designs and what  inspired them.  I'm inspired by a lot of things, not usually just one.  My original idea was "Casino Royale".  I just love love love James Bond movies and am always excited to see who the Bond girls are and what they're wearing.  My favorite kind of clothing to design and create is evening dresses.  Lets just say, I love the Red Carpet.  I thought, "Casino Royale" is perfect!! Then, I got a little influence by Mad Men, another one of my faves.  I just love that retro look, so much fun.  And last but not least....Parisian Chic.  One of the places I would love to visit, as I mentioned before , is Paris, France.  One reason is, I would love to see Chanel's place on Rue Cambon....and then all the art and architecture....oh and can't forget that Monet is one of my favorite artists....so yeah lots I would love to do!  Anyhow, my designs deviated a bit from my original idea but now share several inspirations and I think make it uniquely, me.  I chose the song "Hotel Nacional" for my models to walk to by Gloria Estefan.  I heard it once and thought, ok gotta use this!  Its up beat, fun and seems to represent all my inspirations. Can't wait to share them with everyone!

It's the weekend!!!! Yay! I know, I've been slacking on the posts.... very busy with my designs because the show is next weekend!  Speaking of which,  today, I got a fun package in the mail...Shoes!!!! I ordered, for the first time,  from Shoe Dazzle.  I was a bit skeptical at first but spoke to someone that loves the shoes and is a faithful shopper and decided to give it a try. I was looking every where for a fun new pair of red shoes for the Heart Truth Fashion show and found these....I couldn't resist.  They are a bit taller then I expected but I will practice.  I don't wear heels very often.  Today is a good day to start:)

As you all know I've been working steadily on my designs for two fashion shows.  Today, I had to start thinking about jewelry.  I decided I want to go with big bold earrings.  Just so happens they are one of the big trends this spring!  One of my favorite celebs, Sophia Vergara, wears tons of them!  I can't wait to pair up some jewelry with my dresses.
